The Department of Mechanical Engineering right from its inception of the undergraduate course B.Tech (Mechanical) in the year 2009 has been contributing its modest share of the Mechanical Engineering graduates for national needs .The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Indira Institute of technology & sciences is youngest branch and has grown many fold during these Eleven years of its existence Its impact on the institute is easily demonstrated by noting the alignment of the department's evolution with key events of the institution. Today, the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Indira Institute of technology & sciences attracts and features an rich diversity and quantity of talented individuals, with 120 undergraduates, students and over 20 faculty members. The impressive array of students makes the department as the one of the largest in the Prakasam district.
